The Associate General Counsel position is a hybrid role, requiring 4 days in the office in Midtown Manhattan. The role will report to the General Counsel of a financial services client with a growing legal team. Responsibilities include working closely with internal treasury and securitization teams, providing legal support for financing activities, advising on Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs) and securitizations, structuring financing transactions, and assisting with corporate compliance and governance. The ideal candidate will have a J.D. with strong academic credentials, admission to the NY State Bar, 7+ years of experience in commercial/corporate finance transactions, and a strong understanding of commercial real estate finance matters.
Candidates should have experience with CLOs, treasury, and mortgage warehouse facilities, gained at a top NYC law firm or in-house within the industry. Experience working with REITs is preferred, and relevant post-big law in-house experience will also be considered. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as well as the ability to provide clear and concise legal advice to the business.
