A top financial institution is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their legal team in Philadelphia. This newly created role will focus on providing legal advice to registered investment companies on a variety of matters, including registration work, product development, transactions, and marketing review. The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with various regulations pertaining to registered investment companies, advising on private placements, securities, derivatives, and transactional general corporate legal matters, and assisting with fund creation, mergers, and new product offerings.
The ideal candidate will have a JD from a top US law school, US State Bar Admission, and 6-10 years of experience gained at a top law firm and/or in-house with a financial services company. They must have experience providing advice on the Investment Company Act of 1940, Investment Advisers Act, and other regulatory matters pertaining to a registered investment adviser/registered funds. Excellent communication skills and a willingness to work in-office in Philadelphia on a hybrid basis are also required.
