
The Senior Director, Principal Gifts (SDPG) will work closely with the Chief Development Officer and management team to lead principal gift strategy, co-create funding opportunities, and advance relationships with ultra-high net worth individual donors. This position will be responsible for designing and implementing a high-touch principal gifts program, managing a personal portfolio of major and principal gift prospects, and providing oversight and guidance to the individual giving team. The SDPG will align staff and volunteers to advance our client's mission and strategic priorities, including inspiring outdoor experiences, protecting critical landscapes, cultivating a diverse community, and fostering equity in the outdoors.The SDPG will develop and implement fundraising strategies for prospects at the $1M+ level, collaborate with leadership to create transformational fundraising priorities, and monitor department budgets and projections. This position will provide strategic thought partnership on fundraising strategies, collaborate with colleagues organization-wide, and build relationships with volunteers to engage them in principal gifts fundraising. Additionally, the SDPG will manage a fundraising portfolio, oversee the preparation of fundraising proposals, and collaborate with the CDO to maximize fundraising engagement of the Board of Directors. The SDPG will also supervise the frontline fundraising team, provide guidance in securing major and principal-level gifts, and ensure campaign and annual revenue goals are met through data-informed approaches.
