
The Provost and Vice-President (Academic) at McMaster University is responsible for providing vision and leadership for all academic activities. This includes promoting high-quality academic programming, recruiting and retaining excellent faculty and students, and overseeing academic planning and budget processes. The Provost also plays a key role in advancing institutional initiatives such as Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Truth and Reconciliation efforts.Reporting to the President and working closely with senior administration, the Provost ensures that McMaster continues its tradition of innovative education and problem-based learning. As Chief Budget Officer, the Provost is responsible for maintaining fiscal accountability and relevance in the University-wide budget. Additionally, the Provost collaborates with Indigenous colleagues to address barriers, resolve concerns, and further advance Truth and Reconciliation initiatives at the University.
