The Provost at Salt Lake Community College is responsible for providing administrative leadership, overseeing academic departments and programs, and serving as the chief advocate for student learning and faculty. They supervise college deans and the Vice President of Salt Lake Technical College, guide academic planning and evaluation, manage the academic affairs budget, and work to ensure strong enrollment numbers and graduation rates. The Provost also recommends academic appointments, tenure, and promotions, oversees research and scholarship, and assists in community outreach initiatives.In addition to overseeing academic departments and programs, the Provost provides executive leadership to faculty and staff to help meet the College's goals and objectives. They ensure compliance with accreditation standards, oversee educational programs, and foster innovation to improve student learning and success outcomes. The Provost also works to create professional development opportunities for faculty and staff, provides leadership for student learning outcomes and assessment activities, and represents the President at various levels of government and community committees.
