
Our client is seeking an experienced fundraising professional to serve as the President and CEO, leading a dedicated development team in advancing the university's mission through philanthropy. The individual will be responsible for serving as the university's chief fundraiser, motivating alumni and friends, maintaining a high profile for fundraising, and overseeing the development staff. Additionally, the President and CEO will serve on Marshall University's Presidential Cabinet and coordinate fundraising goals with the academic planning process. Marshall University, a public research institution in West Virginia, offers a diverse and comprehensive educational experience to over 11,000 students from all 50 states and more than 56 countries. The Marshall University Foundation, Inc. was established as an independent nonprofit organization to receive, invest, and disburse private resources on behalf of the university, providing crucial support for its success. The Foundation operates with a 30-member staff and is overseen by a 27-member Board of Directors, responsible for appointing leadership and guiding operations. The integration of the Foundation, Real Estate Foundation, and Alumni Association underscores a unified effort to engage supporters across local, national, and global communities. Qualified candidates for the President and CEO position should have a record of progressive responsibility in fundraising at a comprehensive college or university, with preferred degrees in bachelors, masters, and doctorate.
