Description

The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for advising clients on various areas of education law, including school board advocacy, civil litigation, administrative law, and the promotion and protection of rights to equivalent access to education for linguistic minorities in Canada. Specific responsibilities include advising and representing our client on education law, human rights, special education, equity and inclusive education, privacy, student disciplinary measures, workplace issues, minority language rights, collective bargaining, grievance arbitration, mediation, civil litigation, and cases before administrative tribunals. The candidate will also be responsible for drafting legal opinions, briefs, procedural documents, contracts, policies, and procedures, conducting research and analysis, and providing strategic legal advice on daily school-related issues.In addition to providing legal advice and representation, the successful candidate will be expected to draft various legal documents, conduct research and analysis, and provide strategic and practical legal advice on a wide range of issues that arise in a school setting. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with education laws, human rights legislation, and other relevant legal frameworks, as well as advocating for the rights of linguistic minorities in Canada. The candidate will also be involved in collective bargaining, grievance arbitration, mediation, civil litigation, and cases before administrative tribunals, such as the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and the Ontario Labour Relations Board. Overall, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our client receives comprehensive legal advice and representation in various areas of education law and advocacy.
