The job involves working closely with the VP of a family office in NYC to provide investment insight and direction. Responsibilities include conducting research and analysis on private market investment opportunities, evaluating fund managers, and assessing investment strategies and potential risks. The successful candidate will also be responsible for financial modeling, due diligence, and preparing investment memos and reports for internal stakeholders. Additionally, they will collaborate with investment professionals and senior leadership to support decision-making and portfolio management activities, as well as monitor portfolio performance and market developments.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field, with 1-5+ years of experience in a family office or small investment firm focusing on private markets. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques, and excellent communication and presentation skills are required. The candidate should be detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects effectively, and have a proactive attitude with a passion for learning and growth. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other financial analysis tools is also necessary for this role.
