The client is seeking an Independent Non-Executive Chair for the Stockport Mayoral Development Corporation (MDC), which is responsible for spearheading the regeneration of 130 acres in Stockport Town Centre. The MDC aims to deliver 4,000 homes, 1 million sq. ft. of workspace, and create 5,300 jobs by 2035. With projects like Stockport Exchange and the Interchange already underway, the MDC is looking to expand its reach to an additional 280 acres and double its housing target to 8,000 homes, making it one of the largest town centre regeneration projects in the UK.
As the Chair of the Stockport Mayoral Development Corporation, the successful candidate will lead the Board, oversee strategic direction and governance, and represent the MDC at a high level.
