The Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation at Johns Hopkins University is seeking a Director to lead a new Memphis Innovation Team (i-team) as part of the Bloomberg American Sustainable Cities initiative. The Director will work closely with the Mayor, city leadership, and community organizations to tackle complex civic challenges, drive climate action, and advance racial wealth equity. Responsibilities include leading an equity-centered, design-based innovation approach, managing a high-performing team, collaborating with stakeholders, and overseeing the development and implementation of transformative solutions. The Director must have experience in large-scale transformations, project management, and working with diverse stakeholders, as well as a passion for addressing climate change and racial equity.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, seven or more years of experience in business administration, public policy, or organizational development, and a track record of delivering innovation results in the public sector. Preferred qualifications include experience working with local government, knowledge of government innovation efforts, and familiarity with sustainability, climate equity, and economic inclusion. The salary range for i-team Directors is $115,400 - $202,000, with adjustments based on location and cost of living.
