The Capability Enhancement Department focuses on developing Sweden's collective capability in psychological defense through collaboration with authorities, media, voluntary defense organizations, and civil society. The department works on coordinating, preventive, and developmental efforts to strengthen society's short and long-term resilience. Knowledge development within psychological defense, including partnerships with universities and research institutes, is a key aspect of the department's work. The head of department will lead and develop a team of approximately 20 employees, ensuring internal cooperation, high-quality work, and adherence to budget constraints. Reporting to the director general, the head of department is expected to represent the authority in external activities and media interactions.
Qualifications for the role include a university degree, experience in leading government operations with personnel and budget responsibilities, and knowledge of total defense and security policy. Additional advantageous qualifications include expertise in psychological defense, experience managing other managers, and involvement in research and training activities. The permanent full-time position is based in Solna or Karlstad, with a security check required due to the authority's role in Sweden's total defense.
