The Director of Emergency Management and Safety Operations (DEMSO) at our client is a key leader responsible for coordinating and guiding campus emergency preparedness, incident response, emergency communications, and campus safety operations. Reporting to the Senior Associate Vice President for Business Affairs, the DEMSO works closely with various advisory teams and content experts to develop and implement emergency management protocols and safety operations tailored to the university's unique needs. This role also involves directing the development, administration, training, and maintenance of the university's emergency management program, ensuring continuity of critical functions before, during, and after emergencies.The DEMSO's duties include leading and collaborating with advisory teams to assess risks, develop response plans, and implement policies and procedures related to emergency management. They are also responsible for testing emergency communication technologies, conducting notification drills, and overseeing campus-wide emergency exercises to evaluate the effectiveness of emergency plans and procedures. This role requires the DEMSO to live locally within the Muncie community, potentially work non-traditional hours, and be available for emergency response at all times.
