Description

The University Librarian will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Library's operations, including physical and digital collections, research and teaching support services, and student success initiatives. Reporting to the Provost and Vice-President (Academic), the University Librarian will provide visionary leadership to advance the institution's mission of academic excellence, research innovation, and community engagement. The Librarian will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to promote a culture of innovation, equity, and accessibility, serving as the chief advocate for the Library. Key responsibilities of the University Librarian include developing and implementing a forward-thinking vision for library services that aligns with the University's strategic priorities, managing library resources such as budget, staffing, and infrastructure, and championing the Library's role in supporting academic success, research innovation, and digital literacy. The Librarian will also focus on building and strengthening relationships with campus partners, external organizations, and professional networks to enhance the Library's profile and impact, while promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the Library and ensuring its services are accessible to all members of the University community.
