Our client is seeking a General Manager & CEO to lead the organization in developing and strengthening public broadcasting programs and educational offerings in the state. Reporting to the Executive Vice Chancellor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the Nebraska Education Telecommunications Commission, the ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of senior leadership experience in public media or a related industry, with a Bachelor's degree required and a Master's degree preferred. They should have a strong understanding of multi-platform journalism, public television/radio station structure, ATSC 3.0, and emerging media trends.
The successful candidate will be politically astute, able to unite diverse constituencies, and have a track record of developing visionary institutional identities that excite stakeholders. They must have experience in fundraising, strategic planning, financial management, and providing inspirational leadership to staff. The ideal candidate will also have exceptional communication skills, creativity in problem-solving, and the ability to navigate complex organizations and diverse stakeholders with diplomacy and resilience.
