Our client is looking for a General Counsel with a JD and New York State law license who has a strong understanding of higher education and shared governance. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for the mission of our client and be able to work collaboratively with all members of the university community. The General Counsel will oversee all legal operations at our client, providing legal services on a variety of business, academic, and statutory matters while supporting the university in achieving its strategic goals and initiatives.Responsibilities of the General Counsel include managing legal affairs, advising university leadership on legal matters, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The successful candidate will also be responsible for overseeing contracts, negotiations, and litigation on behalf of our client. The General Counsel will play a key role in shaping the legal strategy of the university and will be a trusted advisor to senior leadership on legal issues impacting the institution.
