A media organization in Manhattan is seeking a General Counsel to work closely with the client's senior leadership team and outside counsel on various commercial legal matters, IP, content distribution, sponsorship, and partnership agreements. The ideal candidate will have experience in media, marketing, or publishing, with a strong background in contract negotiation and review. This role requires a business-minded approach to provide legal counsel on commercial agreements, transactions, and corporate legal matters, with a focus on maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
The General Counsel will be responsible for managing outside counsel, attending senior leadership meetings, and handling the drafting, negotiating, and reviewing of contracts such as marketing, content distribution, production, licensing, and partnership agreements. This is a stand-alone legal role with some support from outside counsel, requiring the candidate to have a JD and admission to the NY State Bar.
