An international business is seeking a General Counsel to join their team in New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have experience in CPG, logistics, manufacturing, or related industries with a sizable workforce. Responsibilities include providing legal advice on contracts, corporate governance, employment matters, regulatory compliance, M&A, IP, and litigation. The General Counsel will work closely with the National Board, provide legal advice on all US business matters, anticipate legal issues, manage outside counsel, and advise on litigation and regulatory matters. They will also oversee contract review, manage the legal department budget, and maintain corporate records in line with regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will have a Juris Doctor from a U.S. law school, at least 7 years of relevant in-house experience, and strong leadership skills. They must be a strong communicator, able to provide legal counsel under pressure, and build relationships with stakeholders. The role offers a competitive salary, annual bonus, and benefits package. The General Counsel will be required to be present in the Jersey City office daily, but the client offers some flexibility on hours and work patterns.
