Like most other industries, the Association of Executive Search and Leadership Consultants 2011 Outlook Report suggests that the Consumer goods sector is slowly regaining strength lost during the recession in 2008 and 2009. As of June 2011, a little over 70% of respondents surveyed viewed the consumer industry as stable, strong or very strong. Only just over 10% believed that this sector was weak, while another 20% had a positive outlook believing it was weak but improving. This positive outlook is consistent with Outlook Reports conducted since late 2009, proving that the consumer goods industry has stayed on track to overcome the hit it took during the recession.
