WV First Foundation is a newly founded organization that strives to combat the drug addiction crisis in West Virginia. With the support of expected funding between $600-$700 million in settlements, and an opportunity to raise much more through the private sector, its primary goal is to attack the drug problem holistically, through education, prevention, treatment, and enhanced enforcement to help individuals, families and communities affected by this devastating drug epidemic. The State of West Virginia is seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to serve as the Foundations inaugural Executive Director. The Executive Director will play a pivotal role in establishing the Foundation, developing its operational structure, overseeing its programs and initiatives, and spearheading partnership efforts. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of individuals and families affected by the drug crisis in West Virginia. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Develop and implement a strategic plan for establishing the WV First Foundation, including its mission, goals, and objectives. Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements for foundation establishment. Create and refine foundation policies, procedures, and protocols to guide operations effectively. Recruit, hire, and manage a team of dedicated professionals to support the Foundations programs and initiatives. Provide leadership, guidance, and professional development opportunities to staff members. Serve as the primary spokesperson for the WV First Foundation, effectively communicating its mission, goals, and impact to stakeholders, including media, government agencies, donors, and community partners. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, healthcare providers, and individuals affected by the opioid epidemic. Develop and manage the foundations budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and transparency. Collaborate with staff, stakeholders, and experts to identify and prioritize programs and initiatives aimed at combating the opioid epidemic in West Virginia.
