The University of Memphis is looking for a Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications to lead a comprehensive, integrated, and strategic operation that enhances the university's brand identity and reputation on a regional, national, and international level. This position will report directly to the President and oversee areas such as Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Graphic Design & Multimedia, and University Events. The ideal candidate will have significant leadership experience in communications, marketing, media relations, or related fields within a complex institution, as well as a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing the university's marketing strategy, coordinating communication efforts, providing counsel to senior-level administrators, and managing budgets for all marketing and communications efforts. They will also lead crisis communication strategies, work collaboratively with cross-campus teams, and oversee the coordination and execution of events. Preferred qualifications include outstanding communication skills, proven supervisory experience, and a track record of effective brand development and market positioning for large organizations.
