
Understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion issues is essential for this role. The Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Counsel will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to promote diversity and inclusion within the legal profession in Alberta on behalf of the client iversity. This includes working with stakeholders to identify barriers to diversity and inclusion, developing policies and programs to address these barriers, and providing education and training on equity, diversity, and inclusion issues. The successful candidate will also be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of these initiatives and making recommendations for improvement as needed.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a law degree and experience practicing law in Alberta, as well as a strong understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion issues. Experience working in a regulatory environment and knowledge of the legal profession in Alberta would be an asset. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Counsel will be working with a wide range of stakeholders, including lawyers, law firms, and community organizations. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, as well as strong problem-solving and analytical skills, are also important for success in this role.
