
The Director of Finance will report to the Vice President for Business Services and will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the university. This role involves managing staff and ensuring the fiscal systems are well-maintained to uphold internal controls and coordinate with other departments. Key responsibilities include overseeing financial accounting, student accounts, payroll, budgeting, investments, and purchasing, as well as providing timely and accurate financial information to departments on a monthly basis. The Director of Finance will also work with department chairs and managers to assist them with their fiscal responsibilities, prepare annual and capital budgets, monitor cash flow, ensure compliance with loan covenants, maintain internal controls and policies, and serve as the primary contact for external auditors.Additionally, the Director of Finance will be responsible for internal and external financial reporting, preparing reports that summarize and forecast business activity and financial position, managing university-owned rental properties, negotiating equipment lease contracts, participating in university committees, and performing other duties as assigned. This position requires strong management skills, financial expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments and external stakeholders. The Director of Finance will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and stability of the university.
