
The ideal candidate for this position should have at least 7 years of relevant experience in a research environment, with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role to ensure competence. They should possess knowledge of animal welfare and ethics related to animal use in scientific research to advocate for animals and maintain credibility with stakeholders. Practical knowledge of veterinary medicine, animal care committees, and animal-based research is essential to effectively engage with participants in the CCAC program.Strong communication skills in both English and French are required to listen to stakeholder concerns and effectively communicate and implement the CCAC's mandate. The candidate should also have effective management skills, including leadership, planning, organizing, and prioritizing activities within the sector. They should be able to manage and lead staff to achieve professional and overall goals in alignment with the organization's objectives.
