
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer position at Northern Rangelands Trust (NRT) is a key leadership role within the client. NRT is a successful local conservation organization based at UNESCO World Heritage Site Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, owned and led by 45 community conservancies in Northern and Coastal Kenya. The Deputy CEO will work closely with the CEO and Board of Directors to help build and develop community conservancies, enhance peoples' lives, build peace, and conserve the natural environment. This role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of NRT, managing staff, and implementing strategic initiatives to achieve the organization's goals.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in conservation, community development, and leadership. They will have experience working with indigenous communities and a passion for sustainable enterprise and livelihoods related to conservation. The Deputy CEO will play a key role in helping communities build resilience and businesses, such as BeadWorks, and will be involved in innovative projects like the grasslands soil carbon project.
