The Dean of the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering will report to the Provosts at UNC Greensboro and N.C. A&T, and will be responsible for leadership within the context of change, strategic initiatives, research expansion, faculty and staff management, program development, accreditation oversight, external funding acquisition, financial resource management, student recruitment and retention, and inclusion efforts. The ideal candidate will have an interdisciplinary orientation, strong communication skills, collaborative abilities, consensus-building leadership style, commitment to excellence in teaching and research, and a Ph.D. in a science or engineering discipline with experience in nanoscience or nanoengineering. In addition to the academic qualifications, the Dean must have at least three years of senior leadership and administrative experience, as well as a track record of success in community and professional engagements. The candidate should also possess qualities such as the ability to work collaboratively, support excellence in teaching and research, and a strong commitment to student success.
