The next dean will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships to support the college's philanthropic goals, including alumni relations, sponsorship, stewardship, special events, and fundraising. They must have a strong intellectual curiosity and be able to effectively advocate for students, faculty, and academic programs across all disciplines. The dean will need to listen to the needs of faculty and staff to develop and implement a strategic vision collaboratively, while also demonstrating a passion for student development and strong organizational and personnel management skills. Candidates for this position must have an earned doctorate or M.F.A. in an arts-related field, or equivalent professional experience, along with a record of scholarship or creative activity at the highest rank of professor in one of the schools within the College of Fine Arts. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative decision-making environment and be dedicated to the success of students and the overall mission of the college.
