The ideal candidate for the Dean position at our client is a well-established scholar with a collaborative leadership style and a successful academic administrative background. They should ideally have experience as a legal practitioner and expertise in one of the Faculty's mandated areas. The candidate should be passionate about building connections with external partners and Indigenous communities, and promoting the Faculty's mission and achievements. They should have a strong understanding of the value proposition for a small school with an Integrated Practice Curriculum, and be committed to social justice, diversity, inclusion, and collegial governance. Lived experience as an Indigenous person with ties to Indigenous nations and knowledge would be a significant asset.The next Dean should have graduate qualifications in Law, a strong academic reputation, and a record of excellence in teaching and scholarship. They should have experience in academic administrative leadership within a multi-union environment, as well as a commitment to the legal profession. The ideal candidate should have a track record of developing sustainable relationships with communities locally, domestically, and internationally, and possess excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills. They should be able to respectfully connect with Indigenous communities and diverse stakeholders.
