The Financial Controller position is with a premier federal general construction renovation company based in Washington, D.C. The role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and involves overseeing all aspects of financial management, including certified payroll processing, compliance with federal contracting requirements, insurance, bonding, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will manage financial activities, ensure compliance with federal contracting requirements, optimize accounting systems, lead a finance team, collaborate with stakeholders, provide strategic financial guidance, develop financial policies, monitor cash flow and risks, and prepare financial reports.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, along with 10+ years of relevant work experience, including at least 4 years in finance at a Federal construction General Contractor. Strong understanding of federal contracting requirements, experience with accounting systems like Procore, Timberline, or Acumatica, excellent leadership and management skills, strong analytical abilities, effective communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are required.
