
The Commissioner of Watershed Management will be a seasoned leader with a strong commitment to environmental stewardship and public health. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this individual will work closely with various stakeholders, including the Mayor's Office, City Department Heads, regulatory agencies, and others to build and maintain relationships. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and problem-solver, providing valuable input to Mayor Andre Dickens, the Chief Operating Officer, and the Atlanta City Council. Responsibilities include overseeing multiple facilities, managing a large team of employees, negotiating vendor contracts, and ensuring top-notch customer service for over 170,000 accounts. In addition to managing day-to-day operations, the Commissioner will be responsible for developing and implementing budgets, capital improvement programs, and compliance-driven projects. This individual will also play a key role in advocating for policies and programs that promote water conservation, flood risk management, and environmental protection. Overall, the Commissioner will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient and effective management of the City of Atlanta's watershed management functions in accordance with the City's Code of Ordinances.
