The BlueSteps Connect event connects executives with senior search consultants through a panel discussion, round-table networking and an informal cocktail reception. This annual event attracted over 100 executives to the exquisite Union League Club of New York City in July - attendance that was unmatched by previous years. This year’s panel discussion, led by senior search professionals and Peter Felix, the president of the AESC, was extremely informative including topics such as: the current state of the market, ageism, expatriate careers and compensation, board of director positions, and how to engage with search firms. The panel was recorded and will be made available to all those that read this blog in the coming weeks.
Over 100 executives listened to the panel and participated in industry specific roundtable discussions.
Following the panel, executives had the unique opportunity to sit at industry-specific tables for more intimate discussion and networking. Each table had at least one search professional present to answer questions about recruiting trends in that industry. Executives learned from the experienced consultants and networked with each other. Business cards were rapidly exchanged.
Following the round-table session, informal networking began with a cocktail reception. During this part of the evening, executives were able to approach consultants outside of their industry and connect further with fellow BlueSteps executive members. The atmosphere was vibrant, as stories of searches and placements crossed from executives to search professionals. In addition, Paula Rue from Career Services International provided non-stop complimentary resume-reviews, while career progression workshops were run by our experienced career coaches, Raleigh Mayer & Sarah Stamboulie.

The BlueSteps Connect event got great feedback from all attendees and was an essential part of their career management strategy.
We look forward to next year’s event and would like to thank all the attendees for making the 2009 BlueSteps Connect such a success. The full recording is now available, while small segments will be released over the coming weeks. Follow us on Linkedin, Twitter or Facebook for updates (links are to the left).
