The Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital is seeking an experienced pediatric research leader for the position of Chief Scientific Officer (CSO). The CSO will report to the President and will be responsible for overseeing research Centers of Emphasis, faculty and trainee recruitment, development, and retention, space management, and operational oversight of key research core resources. The ideal candidate will have advanced leadership skills in an academic research setting, experience recruiting and mentoring basic science/translational research faculty and trainees, and strong collaborative communication skills. The institute is ranked among the top 10 freestanding children's hospitals based on NIH funding and has experienced significant growth in research expenditures and publications over the past decade.
With a new research building opening in 2023, will have over 850,000 square feet of dedicated pediatric research space across four buildings on the Nationwide Children's campus. The institute offers centralized resources such as Animal Resources, Biobehavioral Outcomes, Biostatistics, Clinical Research Services, and more to support researchers at all stages of their work. Nationwide Children's Hospital, founded in 1892, is one of the leading children's hospitals in the nation and provides comprehensive care for infants, children, adolescents, and adult patients with congenital disease.
