Endeavors work revolves around delivering programs through the following core competencies: case management, behavioral health and wellness, rapid deployment, and sheltering. Endeavors provides a diverse set of services through the following 4 service lines: Community Based Services: These programs provide supportive housing, case management, professional counseling, life skills training, and employment opportunities for chronically homeless adults, individuals with disabilities, and children throughout Texas. Behavioral Health and Wellness: These programs offer services to help Veterans, First Responders, the homeless, and their families live successful lives including free and low-cost counseling, suicide prevention training, mental health therapy, life skills courses, wellness, case management, and more. Emergency Services: With a proven track record in disaster relief and recovery, Endeavors steps in to help the communitys most vulnerable individuals during crises such as hurricanes, tornadoes, and other inclement weather, public health, and humanitarian crises. Endeavors provides emergency sheltering and staffing support as well as long term recovery support through their Disaster Case Management program which helps survivors rebuild their lives through individualized recovery plans. Migrant Services: Serving the migrant population since 2012, Endeavors Migrant Services team assists individuals seeking safety and protection by providing for comprehensive care and support to newly arriving children and families, including shelter, access to basic medical and mental health care, legal orientations, home study and post-release services, staffing, and holistic programming for unaccompanied migrant children and families. Endeavors continues to find ways to serve those in need, working hard to expand programs and services. In 2021, they expanded their migrant services line of service to help more children and families in need and opened the Veterans Wellness Center in San Antonio to provide wrap-around wellness services to Veterans and their families. Looking ahead, Endeavors is expanding the Wellness Center model into El Paso to provide services to both Veterans and First Responders. Endeavors currently consists of two 501(c)(3) organizations, with a physical presence in 23 locations across Texas, Florida, Louisiana, North Carolina, and Puerto Rico, and providing services in 26 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. The Opportunity As the organization moves into this next chapter, Endeavors seeks a mission-focused, empathetic, seasoned, and action-oriented Chief Operating Officer (COO”). This leader should have demonstrable experience scaling and streamlining an organization, collaborating for success with a staff, leadership team, and suite of external partners to build on past organizational achievement and foster continued growth, and implementing project management systems among a group of diverse, talented, and geographically distributed individuals. Reporting directly to and partnering with CEO Chip Fulghum, the COO will identify business opportunities to protect and grow Endeavors ability to serve the community. As part of Endeavors Executive Leadership Team, the COO will participate in shaping the strategic direction of the organization, developing and executing strategy and leveraging best practices. The COO will also serve as CEO delegate in the absence of the CEO. The COO is responsible for the oversight of Endeavors four service lines. Providing effective leadership to the program staff, the COO will foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment. Together, the team will consistently evaluate and assess program impact and effectiveness which will result in the design and development of new programs and initiatives that address the emerging needs of clients. While it is essential that the COO help design and implement efficient and effective systems to increase the productivity of the organizations programs and services, it is critical that the team maintain the spiritual core of its mission and culture. To that end, it is expected that the COO will come to Endeavors with a connection to their own spiritual/religious practice and an openness to deepening their practice through the work of the organization. This leader must provide proactive leadership to enhance Endeavors vision and strategies in ways that both build upon its history and expertise and positions the organization to capitalize on the growing needs of and opportunities within the sector. This includes driving an innovative strategic plan that envisions growth and expanded impact, new initiatives, and an even stronger infrastructure. Key responsibilities include: Serve as a trusted thought partner and collaborator with the CEO and executive team. Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement organization-wide, goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning. Build and maintain effective and trusting relationships with staff, key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders. Analyze internal operations and identify areas of process enhancement. In partnership with the CEO, develop actionable business strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives. Monitor performance with tracking and establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports, both current and forecasting. Provide day-to-day leadership and management to a service organization that mirrors the adopted mission and core values of the company. Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company; represent the organization with clients, alliances, and community partners. Culturally competent, the COO will be experienced working with diverse populations while serving as an advocate for those who may be underrepresented or marginalized within the communities Endeavors serves. This leader will be an individual of unquestioned integrity, ethics, and values; someone who can be trusted without reservation. A Trusted Relationship Builder The COO will have demonstrated the ability to build trust and credibility naturally and quickly. The COO will cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with government agencies and key constituents. They will have a natural inclination for developing strong relationships and networks and will be inclusive. In particular, this leader will possess a strong working knowledge of the government at the federal level (including legislative and executive branches). It is imperative that the COO fosters an atmosphere of collaboration and partnership across the organization. The COO will have an exceptional capacity for managing and leading people, including building the capabilities of a driven, ambitious, and diverse team. A talent magnet, the COO will bring a demonstrated history of building and sustaining top performing teams. Above all, the COO must be able to build and sustain excellent relationships at multiple levels internally and with the various external constituencies including the Board of Directors, staff, community, and a range of federal, state, and local government agencies and other institutions. An Expert in Operations The COO will be a process-minded leader with experience leading an organization in improving efficiency and streamlining processes and systems. This leader will bring a strong business acumen with a sophisticated understanding of organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning. Furthermore, this leader will understand how to leverage budgeting, and forecasting functions to maximize organizational financial and operational effectiveness. This capable leader will demonstrate proven experience implementing strategic plans and systems and will be constantly mindful of the relationship of present realities and Endeavors future. They will leverage technology, data, and analytics to measure outcomes and support the achievement of evolving business strategies. A Strategic and Visionary Leader The COO will be a strategic, tactical, and proven leader able to develop and articulate a vision for Endeavors next chapter while simultaneously executing on its current strategic priorities. Comfortable developing relationships in the corporate boardroom, this leader will also embrace the 'hands-on' nature of the mission and this leadership opportunity within varied settings. In tandem with the executive team, the COO will provide critical input in the development of strategies needed to advance the work of a mission-based organization, from funding to mission delivery. The COO will develop a strong and transparent working relationship with the CEO and successfully leverage the skills and talents of the Board to create and execute on strategic goals, while working closely with the organizations various constituents on the plans implementation and evaluation. The COO has the drive and passion to position Endeavors at the forefront of the sector by staying ahead of trends, anticipating new challenges, and positioning Endeavors to proactively respond to them. Compensation & Benefits Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. The salary range for this role is $325,000-375,000 plus 25%-45% discretionary bonus. Compensation also includes a generous benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401K with match, 457(f) plan, unlimited PTO, Executive life insurance, Individual Disability Insurance, and employer-sponsored Executive Exam.
