The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at our client plays a crucial role within the Executive Team, providing strategic financial leadership and oversight for the organization. Reporting directly to the President and CEO, the CFO is responsible for managing the client's annual operating budget of approximately $32 million, as well as developing and implementing financial policies, planning, and reporting processes. They also oversee contracts, risk management frameworks, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, all while aligning financial strategies with the client's strategic goals.
In addition to their financial responsibilities, the CFO also serves as the Treasurer for the client Society, further solidifying their role as a key leader within the organization. Working closely with the UVic General Counsel, the CFO negotiates and manages contracts, ensuring compliance with the UVic-ONC Management Agreement. They also lead financial reporting for research accounts held by UVic and the client Society, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of financial management and compliance within a complex organizational structure.
