Our client is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead the strategic direction, management, and development of the organization. The CEO will work closely with the Board of Trustees to implement initiatives that align with the Fort Monroe Master Plan, promote historical preservation, and drive economic redevelopment. Responsibilities include fostering partnerships with government entities, overseeing departmental functions, and advocating for legislative and financial support to sustain and enhance Fort Monroe's infrastructure and operations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for historic preservation, and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders to support the vision of One Fort Monroe.
The CEO will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, advocating for the FMA's mission, and overseeing organizational operations to ensure compliance with preservation responsibilities and strategic goals. Key responsibilities include championing economic redevelopment, nurturing partnerships with key stakeholders, and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization. Desired qualifications include 10+ years of leadership experience, strong communication and partnership-building skills, and a background in tourism, real estate development, or historic preservation.
