Our client is seeking a Chief Development Officer to design and lead a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet current and future resource challenges and ambitious aspirations. Reporting to the Director and CEO, the CDO will work with leadership and the Board of Trustees to leverage the organization's assets for innovative fundraising approaches. The successful candidate will be a dynamic self-starter with a track record of success in development leadership, a passion for the organization's global mission, and experience in major gift solicitation and campaign building.
The ideal candidate will have significant leadership experience in fundraising, preferably in a major museum or cultural institution, and a proven track record of success in individual major gift solicitation. They should have a commitment to inclusion, diversity, and equity, as well as the ability to be strategic and hands-on. The CDO will lead a 30-person team to expand the organization's philanthropic base, plan and launch fundraising campaigns, and foster a culture of philanthropy while engaging with the global philanthropic, business, and cultural communities.
