
The Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego is seeking a Chief for the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism. The ideal candidate will lead a research program, mentor students and faculty, and promote diversity, equity, and inclusivity in the workplace. The division consists of over 30 faculty members, 12 academics, 29 postdoctoral fellows, and 45 staff, with research programs in diabetes, obesity, metabolic liver disease, and other endocrine disorders. The successful candidate will provide leadership in teaching, research, and patient care, with appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level based on experience and background.
Basic qualifications for the position include an MD, MD/PhD, or PhD relevant to endocrinology and metabolism, along with a track record of leading research programs and independent extramurally-funded research. Preferred qualifications include national recognition in research and a vision for sustaining and growing the division's missions.
