Description

The Academic Rules and Regulations/University College Policies and Procedures position involves interpreting and communicating academic rules, regulations, and policies to faculty and instructors. This role also includes approving final grade submissions, assessing program-related requests, and collaborating with academic programs to develop course offerings that align with the university's academic mission and liberal studies degree requirements. Additionally, the role involves organizing seminars, workshops, and presentations to advance topics related to liberal studies, promoting scholarly work, and assisting in the recruitment of expert presenters for various events. In terms of Human Resources and Resource Management, the position involves leading annual performance reviews for direct reports, overseeing faculty/instructor hiring, and recommending hires to the Office of the Vice-Provost. The role also includes managing staff performance, hiring and managing employees, preparing and managing the operating budget, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring course enrollments are on track. Furthermore, the position involves fostering relationships with internal and external constituencies, participating in university and community service activities, acting as an ambassador for the university, and fostering opportunities for new partnerships and collaborations.
