Description

The Chair of the Financial Services Consumer Panel will be responsible for leading the strategic direction and development of the Panel for a three-year term. They will work to ensure that the voice of the consumer is heard in the development of financial services policy and regulation, with a focus on making markets work well for consumers and protecting them from harm. The Chair will act as a critical friend to the Client, providing an independent consumer perspective to help the Client deliver its strategic and operational objectives.

The Chair will collaborate with the Client on its priorities each year, while also considering the impact on consumers of activities that are not regulated but are related to the Client's general duties. They will work to influence the development of financial services policy and regulation to benefit consumers, SMEs, and microbusinesses across all of society. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in consumer advocacy and a deep understanding of financial services, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively represent the interests of consumers in the industry.
