The instability caused by the pandemic shows the disconnect between the C-level and the board of directors. This concept appears in a recent report of 1,327 business leaders from 53 countries, including Brazil, by consulting firm Russell Reynolds. “At a time when leaders needed to make decisions in uncertainty and ambiguity, this sense of disconnect is an element of concern. And it can be due to the lack of diversity and worldviews on the board,” says Flávia Leão, country manager of Russell Reynold Associates. Read the full story here

According to a survey conducted by consulting firm PWC Brasil, 60% of companies plan to hire in the coming months. This survey covered 62 Brazilian companies from 16 sectors between October 2020 and March 2021 - it required leaders with a profile to be prepared to navigate through uncertain contexts. A digital ‘mindset’ ability to deal with data, make agile decisions with the sensitivity to look beyond business, and focus on the impact on society is necessary, says Tatyana de Freitas, director of technology and digital at Russell Reynolds Associates in Brazil, a global advisory firm focused on senior leadership.
