By advancing the academic, student success, and research profile of the institution, the AVP will elevate the most promising minds as thought leaders in their respective fields.In order to achieve these goals, the AVP will need to influence, counsel, and collaborate with various schools and departments across the university, many of which have their own communications professionals. This will require strong leadership skills, the ability to inspire others, and a talent for building bridges between different groups. The AVP will also provide opportunities for professional development, mentorship, and other tools to enhance collaboration and ensure the success of the communications division.
