The Associate Secretary position at our client involves serving as the chief operating officer of the Society, reporting directly to the Secretary, and supporting the advancement of our client's mission. Responsibilities include overseeing human resources management, financial and budgetary operations, and serving as a liaison to the Phi Beta Kappa Senate. The Associate Secretary also leads day-to-day operations of the national office, collaborates with staff, and provides strategic direction for upgrading the membership database. Additionally, the role involves coordinating fundraising efforts, managing member relations, and participating in planning and convening the Society's Triennial Council.Our client is a prestigious academic honor society that recognizes academic excellence in the liberal arts and sciences, with chapters at 293 colleges and universities in the U.S. The Society selects the top 10 percent of liberal arts and sciences graduates to join, making membership one of the most prestigious honors a student can achieve. The Associate Secretary plays a key role in planning for the celebration of the Society's 250th anniversary, supporting the Senate's Futures Task Force, and collaborating with external partners such as the Phi Beta Kappa Foundation and investment consultants. The position also involves supervising staff responsible for information technology, member relations, communications, and building maintenance, as well as representing the Society at events and conferences as needed.
