
The ideal candidate for this position should have a post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field, along with at least five years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a professional certification from a recognized Supply Management/Procurement organization is required, or three to five years of directly related public procurement experience, preferably in a higher education setting. Supervisory experience, preferably at the management level, is also preferred. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing procurement activities, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures. They will also be expected to lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, develop and implement procurement strategies, and participate in contract negotiations. Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential for this role, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
