Our client is seeking an Assistant Vice President of Faculty Programs and Initiatives to lead campus-wide faculty hiring efforts in alignment with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) principles and best practices. Reporting to the Provost, the Assistant Vice President will coordinate with Deans and the Office of Equity and Compliance to ensure the recruitment and retention of a diverse faculty workforce. Responsibilities include overseeing the hiring of college-specific Faculty Equity and Compliance Representatives, working with search committees, and implementing initiatives to support faculty retention. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, along with demonstrated experience in academic personnel decision-making and working within a diverse higher education environment.
Qualifications for the position include eligibility for appointment as a tenured faculty member, at least three years of progressively responsible academic administrative experience, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion. Preferred qualifications include at least five years of academic administrative experience and knowledge of equity-minded decision-making practices. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, and a commitment to fostering employee development and accountability.
