The ideal candidate for this position will have a tertiary qualification in the AOD sector, such as nursing, social work, psychology, or case management, as well as a tertiary/post graduate qualification, training, and/or experience in mental health, addiction, or management. They must also have professional registration with a relevant professional body, DAPAANZ. Excellent people and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to build productive relationships. The candidate should also possess good financial understanding and skills, with the ability to manage contracts. Additionally, the successful candidate will have robust clinical expertise in mental health, AOD, or a related field, and the ability to lead and positively influence service development. They must be able and willing to work with diversity and from a bi-cultural perspective, as well as effectively manage their time and tasks both individually and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Personal resilience and a willingness to go the extra distance are also important qualities for this role. A valid driver's license and entitlement to work in Aotearoa New Zealand are required, and previous experience of management in a mental health, AOD, or related service and field would be advantageous.
